About the speaker:

Kathleen A. McDermott, serves as Director of Nonprofit Advisory Services at McKinley Carter Wealth Services and has worked in the non-profit management industry since 1994. As the Director of Nonprofit Advisory Services, Kathleen is responsible for working with non-profit clients in the areas of planning, finance, fund development, and governance. She has extensive experience managing non-profits, implementing fund raising campaigns and working with non-profit Board of Directors.
Kathleen joined McKinley Carter following a successful tenure as President of Oglebay Institute, one of Wheeling’s largest non-profit organizations. She has also served as a consultant for many regional non-profits including The Oglebay Foundation, Tamarack Foundation, WV Education Alliance, Wheeling Jesuit University, YMCA of Wheeling and more.
Kathleen has a Master in Arts Management from the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Dickinson College. She received a Certified Fund Raising Professional designation from the Association of Fund Raising Professionals. She has served on numerous boards and commissions. Governor Earl Ray Tomblin appointed her as a Commissioner to the WV Women's Commission in 2012. She has been recognized in Ogden Newspaper's Face of the Future in 2007, was a member of The State Journal's Generation Next: WV's 40 under 40 in 2008, and in 2019 received the Sharp Shooter Award from West Virginia Executives Magazine.
