The Foundation for Sustainable Parks and Recreation (FSPR) was established in November 2012 to serve as a resource for Parks and Recreation Professionals in there efforts to have a positive impact on the health and livability of youth, families, and communities.

In June 2015, the FSPR awarded seed grant to help establish the National Association of Park Foundations. The National Association of Park Foundations is very proud of the funding partnership developed with the FSPR and look forward to working together to continue to promote citizen and volunteer involvement in parks and recreation across the country; especially within the local park foundation areas.
