NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PARK FOUNDATIONS Announce Key Leadership Positions
Approves Board Chairman and new Assistant Executive Director
Villa Park, IL, February 1, 2015— The National Association of Park Foundations (NAPF), an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization, recently approved the appointment of Donald R. Jessen (Illinois) as the NAPF Chairman of the Board of Directors. The NAPF also announces the addition of Craig Anderson (Wisconsin) as the organizations Assistant Executive Director.
“These important additions to the NAPF leadership team demonstrate our ongoing commitment to our members that the NAPF strives to recruit the most talented and dedicated professionals to lead and serve the membership of the NAPF,” said NAPF Executive Director Donald Ortale.
The NAPF, headquartered in suburban Chicago, is dedicated to strengthening Park Foundations and other “Friends-of-the-Parks” non-profit organizations across the United States whose mission it is to support and enhance the local park experience.
“I am honored and privileged to be appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NAPF, “ said Donald R. Jessen. “The focus of everyone associated with the NAPF is to deliver the highest value to our members through the various member benefits and best practices available to our members across the country. Jessen is a 30+-year veteran of Parks and Recreation formerly serving a member of the board of the National Park and Recreation Association, Chair of the Board of the Illinois Association of Park Districts, Board President of the Addison Park District, and currently serves as President of the board of the Addison Park and Rec. Foundation.
The NAPF also announces the addition of Craig Anderson as the organizations Assistant Executive Director. “I am truly excited to join such a professional organization that will benefit all current and future park foundations by giving a local and national voice to people passionate about parks and by providing much needed services/benefits/resources to all levels of park foundations.” said Anderson. Craig Anderson previously led the Muskego Parks & Recreation Department for 16 years.
