National Association of Park Foundations Name Inaugural Board Members

Villa Park, IL October 1, 2014 -  The National Association of Park Foundations (NAPF), an Illinois non-profit membership organization, is proud to announce it’s Inaugural Board of Directors. 

 

“The NAPF is delighted to bring to our membership a slate of board members who  will govern the activities of the NAPF with a keen eye toward delivering membership benefits designed to strengthen every aspect of our member organizations,” said Donald A. Ortale, NAPF executive director.  “Collectively our board members have over 100 years of park related and non-profit  organization leadership which will assist the NAPF in delivering the highest quality support of our member park foundations.”

 

Listed below are the bio’s of the inaugural NAPF Board Members

 

Ronald D. Lehman currently serves as commissioner at the Channanhon Community Park district where he has served for over 42 years.  Under his term, the Channahon Community Park District earned the coveted IAPD - Gold Medal for Excellence in Park Districts in 1997.  Ron has also served as National Recreation and Parks Commissioner and Trustee for over 12 years.  He also has served as President of the Illinois Association of Park District Board of Directors for 10 years and as Chairman of the Illinois Michigan National Heritage Corridor for 5 years.

 

Donald Jessen is a 30+ year veteran of volunteer service to Parks and Recreation serving in various volunteer and elected leadership positions.  He is an advocate for parks and recreation on a legislative level and is often seen lobbying on behalf of parks and recreation at the state and national level.  He has served as an Ambassador to Parks and Recreation in Japan.  He is currently the Chair of the Addison Park District Foundation.
