The National Association of Park Foundations (NAPF) deepens its services for all members by changing our relationship with Dr. Nathan A. Schaumleffel and his company, Driven Strategic LLC, from Member Services Consultant to NAPF Consulting Partner.
Over the last two years, Dr. Schaumleffel served as the Members Services Consultant where he provided monthly coaching and consultation to about half of NAPF’s membership as a member benefit. In November 2018, the NAPF Board realigned member services consulting and coaching back to Donald Ortale, NAPF Executive Director. As NAPF grows and evolves, and member park foundations’ and friends groups’ require more in-depth consulting, this new configuration allows Dr. Schaumleffel and his team at Driven Strategic LLC to more deeply engage members and develop substantive strategies for stronger park foundations. Dr. Schaumleffel will be available for a more personal touch via in-person consultation, on-site and on-line coaching, staff/volunteer training, board development, strategic planning and partnership development, webinars, and even publishing.
Members will now have the ability to access Dr. Schaumleffel’s broad knowledge and experience to develop specific strategies for their own foundations. This partnership widens an already expansive pool of nationally acclaimed thought leaders represented in the NAPF, its board and advisory councils.
“We are proud to announce Driven Strategic LLC, which is owned by Dr. Nathan A. Schaumleffel, as the NAPF Consulting Partner,” said Ortale. “We listen to the needs of our members and continue to enhance our consultative offerings by expanding the information sharing opportunities through a professional as knowledgeable and experienced as Dr. Schaumleffel.”
Dr. Schaumleffel is a leading national expert on park foundation development and operations, as he was recently invited to serve on the faculty of the Park Foundation School at the Oglebay National Training Center. He is a frequent speaker at NRPA and state association conferences, and author in leading industry publications on park foundation governance, operations, finance, fundraising, strategic partnerships, and volunteerism. He holds a Ph.D in Recreation, Youth, and Community Development from the University of Illinois. He also holds a M.S.Ed. in the Administration of Recreation and Park Systems and a B.S. in Recreation Services; both from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
“Over the last two years, NAPF members became colleagues and friends as we chatted by phone and Skype. As much as I have missed the monthly member service check-ins during December, January, and February, I am thrilled to be engaging with NAPF member organizations, board members, and staff on longer-term consulting projects. This realignment by the NAPF board will allow for more services to be provided to NAPF members!”
