Bill Koegler is a nationally recognized speaker and a lifelong Parks and Recreation professional with over 40 years managerial experience at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, West Virginia. He has managed every phase of the operations of this self-sustaining, public park system, including park operations, the Wilson Lodge Conference and Convention Center, the acclaimed National Training Center for Public Facility Managers, and the Oglebay Foundation. Koegler has been involved in Foundation Development and consulting since the mid 1990's and has assisted in the development of over 30 Park Support Foundations and advised numerous other organizations. He is the retired Director of the National Training Center at Olgebay and currently is the President of WLK Consulting, specializing in Foundation Development and alternative funding master plans. Bill was elected to the prestigious American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in the fall of 2007 and named a "Legend" of the Academy in 2012. He currently serves as a trustee of the Academy Foundation. In addition to his numerous awards, Koegler received the NRPA's highest award, the Distinguished Professional of the Year.
